Chocolate Brownies
- 25g butter
- 185g dark chocolate chopped
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 2 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup plain flour
- ¾ cup nuts (slivered almonds or walnuts)
Grease sides and line bottom 19cm square cake tin with non-stick baking paper. In bowl, combine sugar, vanilla, eggs, flour and nuts. Melt butter and chocolate in saucepan over hot water. Add this to bowl and combine all ingredients. Pour mixture into tin and bake in moderate oven approx 30min. Cut once, cool, cut again and cool completely in tin. Refrigerate and cut again. Dust with icing sugar before serving. Keep in fridge.
